An edited India

It is not one country. It is several, folded into one.

Sunlit Mile is a considered route through India — chosen, visited, and vouched for by people who've actually been, then handed to an advisor who can build it properly.

Five places we keep sending people back to

Not a directory of everywhere. A short list of where we'd go ourselves, given a free week and no agenda.

What we've learned by going back, again and again.

How we curate

Three rules we don't bend, even when it costs us a listing.

We visit first.

Every property and guide on Sunlit Mile has been visited in person before it's recommended — not sourced from a database or another site's list.

We say no, often.

Most of what we're shown doesn't make the list. What's here is here because we'd send our own families.

We don't sell rooms.

We connect you with the independent advisors and specialists who do — which is the only way the recommendation stays honest.

Once you've found your route, we hand you to someone who can build it.

Sunlit Mile doesn't book trips directly. We work with a small number of India specialists — independent advisors who know the country in a depth no booking engine ever will. Tell us what you're drawn to, and we'll make an introduction.
